We do understand that some municipalities
share resources that are directly employed by your municipality. If this is the case, please contact your
local MPAC Account Support Coordinator for next step.
Not at this time. MPAC's International Standards Organization (ISO) 27001 certification and our Privacy by Design principles guide us to approach protecting privacy by embedding it into the design specifications of technologies and business practices. That means building in privacy right into the design specifications and architecture of new systems and processes.
Since there is so much sensitive information within Municipal Connect, delegating access to the various parts of the system must be a mindful process, with thought given to whether each individual needs certain information in order to do their job. Cloning takes that mindfulness away.
We will continue to explore ways to make the Administrator Console as convenient to use as possible, while still respecting the Privacy by Design principles, our ISO security certification standards, and Section 32(d) of MFIPPA which, paraphrased, directs institutions and their employees and consultants to only disclose or use personal info if needed to do their jobs.
Please check your junk mail box to see if it was redirected there in error. If it is not there, please contact your local administrator for more information about accessing the new Municipal Connect.
If you are the local administrator and the email is not in your junk mail box, please contact your local MPAC Account Support Coordinator. Contact information can be found HERE.
You can choose the "Forgot Password" link on the Municipal Connect Login page or contact your local administrator.
As a best practice we do not recommend that you bookmark the link. Instead, to ensure that you have the latest information regarding the new Municipal Connect, we do recommend that you choose the Municipal Connect Login link from www.mpac.ca
However, since bookmarking is a common practice, we have added a separate landing page that can be successfully bookmarked.
You may have noticed we’ve implemented an additional security requirement when logging into Municipal Connect.
You will now be asked to enter a CAPTCHA code each time you log in. We have implemented this additional layer of security to increase our protection against bots and other automated attacks. This security enhancement will also help to prevent system outages that can result from attempted attacks.
We are constantly monitoring evolving cyber security threats and new mechanisms to protect our systems and data so that you can safely access the assessment tools you need.

The one-time passcode
expires after 5 minutes. Each time you log in, a unique passcode is
created and sent to you via email. Please try to log in again, keeping an
eye on your inbox for a new email, and use that passcode within 5 minutes.
Just like the link in the welcome email, the reset password link stays active for 48 hours.
If a user makes 10 concurrent attempts to login with an incorrect password…
The new Municipal Connect is compatible with most typical internet browsers and most mobile devices.
It is possible to
do this by choosing just a street name, if you’re looking for all the
properties on a specific street, or entering partial roll numbers will
intuitively understand that you’re looking for all the properties with roll
numbers greater than the partial number entered, such as stopping the roll
number input just before the map or parcel numbers.
To support the
improved functionality of the new Municipal Connect, events available for
searching and/or viewing on the Property Views date back to January 1, 2017.
Yes,
you can save your search criteria but choosing the “Save Filters” button on the
top-left corner of the My Properties page.
Yes, you can export your search results from the Table View on My Properties.
We are working on improvements to the exported results to ensure they are related to the original search query, and that no other text is included in the partition values cells.
Sale events include sales that were keyed on or after January 1, 2013. Coming soon, we’ll be including sales that date back to 2007 (the same as 2.0).
The sales transferor history is found on the Time of Sale (ToS) View.
RfR and Appeals events can be found on the Property View, and can be searched by these events on My Properties. They can also be found through both the RfR console and the Appeals console
Section 32(d) of MFIPPA Municipal Freedom of Info and protection of Privacy, which, paraphrased, directs institutions and their employees and consultants to only disclose or use personal info if needed to do their jobs.
MPAC's Privacy by Design Principles guide us to approach protecting privacy by embedding it into the design specifications of technologies and business practices. That means building in privacy right into the design specifications and architecture of new systems and processes. Since there is so much sensitive information within Municipal Connect, delegating and accessing personal information, must be a mindful process.
Adding this dynamic redaction tool allows access to the personal information once the user has attested to needing it, by hovering over the fields.
Coming soon, users can use a toggle feature to remove the redactions on the Property Views or search results.
Also coming soon, any newly created profiles will require the local administrator to indicate that the new user should have the hover to reveal option. If this role is not chosen, the user will not be able to see the personal information. There will be a tool tip added, to direct the user to their local administrator for more information and next steps.
Historical Property Assessments are displayed on the Events Timeline. This allows the user to see point in time assessment information for each event that occurs on the property. The user can launch into specific views from the Events Timeline to review the Assessment in more detail. Currently, assessment information is available only for this current assessment cycle, so info dates back to 2017 (exception – sales date back to 2013).
The Transferor’s name is displayed in the sale
section of the Time of Sale View. The
Time of Sale View can be accessed from the Events Timeline.
The parcel layer is sourced through Teranet, through a daily feed, to ensure the data is as current as possible.
The radius and square selection tools have been added
Once a property becomes “active”, it will be uploaded into Connect through the nightly refresh. If the parcel layer information is unavailable, this is likely because the parcelization process is still in progress.
We will be exploring this possibility in the near future.
This will be coming soon!
All
the portals noted, can all be accessed from either system. There will not be a lag in data refreshes,
because both systems are pointing to the same portals. We
will be making improvements to all of these portals, to better align with the
modern interface of the new Municipal Connect.
The Municipal Licence Agreement limits each municipality to 4 (four) unique exports per year (important to note that it is 4 per municipality, not 4 per individual user). To reduce the risk of using up the annual allotment, we have limited access of the EAI role to the Local Administrator, plus one other user. The second user is at the discretion of the Local Administrator.
If there are more than one Local Administrators, the role will be automatically assigned to two Local Administrators. If your municipality would prefer that one of those two roles be assigned to a regular user instead, please have the Local Administrator contact their local Municipal & Stakeholder Relations team.
Coming later in 2021, Municipal Connect will have a Notification System.
Coming soon, there will be a “reveal/hide” toggle for personal information, so that you can reveal, copy and then hide the information again after copying. Also coming soon, is the ability to copy and paste data elements that currently have ellipses.
